Metalcore Monday: New Music from Currents, Crown the Empire, Sleep Theory & Fit For A King
IT IS METALCORE MONDAY!
Happy metalcore Monday! Right off the bat, I would like to say I hate the seasonal Red Bull flavor.
The hell that is formatting a spreadsheet while listening to The Summoning at work. But like, I love it.
Anyway, let's get into some new music. Here's your Metalcore Monday brief, featuring some recent releases from bands you probably already have in your rotation.
CURRENTS – “Retributioner”
Currents are back with their first single on Rise Records, and they're officially gearing up for their next album, Our Fates Lie In Tandem, arriving February 12, 2027.
“Retributioner” is the first taste of what's coming, and if you're a Currents fan, this one's definitely worth adding to your rotation.
CROWN THE EMPIRE – “violet”
Crown the Empire dropped “violet” on October 30, continuing their latest sonic evolution.
The band has been leaning into a more genre-blending sound lately, incorporating pop sensibilities and electronic textures into their rock foundation. Whether you're into their newer direction or still clinging to the old-school Crown the Empire era, this one is worth checking out.
SLEEP THEORY – “Giving In”
Sleep Theory released “Giving In” on October 29, bringing some heavier energy back into their alternative-metalcore sound.
The track explores the cycle of addiction, with a pretty dark music video to match. They're also heading out on tour with Papa Roach, so this is a good one to get familiar with before they hit the road.
FIT FOR A KING – “Steady Doom”
Fit For A King dropped the deluxe edition of Lonely God on October 30, bringing three additional tracks to the record.
“Steady Doom” is the previously unreleased addition, and if you're looking for something heavier to throw into your workout playlist, this is a solid contender.
That's your Metalcore Monday brief. Go update your playlists, pretend your spreadsheets aren't actively ruining your life!
