Senses Release New Cover of Simple Plan's "Perfect" to Support Mental Health Awareness

Senses have released a new cover of Simple Plan's "Perfect" in partnership with Songs That Saved My Life, a project that uses music to raise awareness around mental health and support suicide prevention efforts.

Originally released by Simple Plan in 2002, "Perfect" became one of the defining songs of the pop punk era. For their version, Senses put their own spin on the track while maintaining the emotional weight that made the song resonate with so many listeners.

Proceeds from the release will be donated to suicide awareness and prevention organizations through the Songs That Saved My Life program.

Speaking about the collaboration, Senses said that creating a safe space through music has always been one of the band's core goals. They shared that mental health remains an important issue and that they are proud to support an initiative focused on bringing awareness and resources to those who need them.

Based in Los Angeles, Senses describe themselves as an "emo-friendly, punk-curious" band. Led by vocalist and guitarist Madison Taylor and drummer Nick Sampson, the duo has built a growing audience. Since forming in 2019, the band has toured alongside artists including Charlotte Sands, Carlie Hanson, Leah Kate, Bailey Spinn, and Boys Like Girls, while continuing to expand their reach following their signing to Hopeless Records.

Their debut EP, take me out of here (2023), introduced listeners to tracks such as "sleepwalking," "gonna make sure," and "novocain." More recently, Senses released their second EP, i'm still breathing (2025), featuring fan favorites including "diamonds on your dagger," "every little thing," and "nosebleeds." As they continue working on new music, the band remains focused on building an inclusive community through songs that encourage connection and support.
