Underoath Announce “Van Tour to Vans Warped Tour” Run
Underoath are heading back to basics this summer with a new run of small venue shows titled Underoath: The Van Tour to Vans Warped Tour. Presented by Vans, the tour kicks off June 8 in Jacksonville, Florida and will take the band through independent venues across the country before appearances at Vans Warped Tour dates in Washington, D.C. and Long Beach, California. Special guest Held. will join the tour for select dates.
The band says the tour is meant to recreate the feeling of their earliest years, trading larger productions for smaller rooms and a more direct connection with fans. Guitarist Tim McTague described the experience as a chance for the band to reconnect creatively while returning to the same touring environment that shaped them in the early 2000s. He also noted that these shows will be some of the smallest performances the band has played in decades, creating a setting that longtime fans likely have not experienced since Underoath’s earliest club tours.
Keyboardist Chris Dudley shared similar thoughts, pointing to the energy of smaller venues and surprise pop-up shows the band played last year. According to Dudley, the band has discussed doing a stripped-down van tour for years, and the upcoming run finally gives them the opportunity to make it happen.
Over the years, Underoath have built a reputation for balancing aggressive heaviness with atmospheric and melodic songwriting. The Florida band earned two gold-certified albums and three Grammy nominations while becoming one of the defining acts in modern post-hardcore and metalcore. Releases like Define the Great Line helped push heavier music into the mainstream, while their live shows have ranged from major festival appearances to packed club performances.
Tickets for all upcoming dates are available now through the band’s official website.
