Dance Gavin Dance Release Tree City Sessions 3
Dance Gavin Dance have released Tree City Sessions 3, the latest installment in their ongoing live recording series. The new album features re-recorded versions of songs spanning the band's catalog, including fan favorites such as "The Robot With Human Hair, Pt. 3," "Need Money," and "It's Safe To Say You Dig The Backseat."
The album is now available on streaming platforms, with exclusive vinyl variants and CDs currently available through the band's webstore, the Rise Records webstore, and on their current tour. A wider retail release is scheduled for June 19.
Speaking about the project, drummer Matthew Mingus said the Tree City Sessions releases have always been enjoyable for the band to create and noted that the collection highlights vocalist Andrew Wells' range across songs from different eras of the Dance Gavin Dance discography.
Formed in Sacramento in 2005, Dance Gavin Dance has become one of the most recognizable names in modern post-hardcore, blending elements of progressive rock, funk, metalcore, and pop into a sound that has remained uniquely their own. The current lineup features Andrew Wells, Jon Mess, Will Swan, and Matthew Mingus. Over the years, the band has earned multiple Top 15 entries on the Billboard 200 and built a dedicated fanbase through a constantly evolving catalog and extensive touring schedule.
The release arrives ahead of the band's upcoming album Pantheon, which follows 2022's Jackpot Juicer. According to the band, the record revisits some of the heavier and more experimental elements that helped define their early material while continuing to build on the songwriting approach of their more recent releases.
Dance Gavin Dance are currently on tour across North America with The Fall Of Troy, Horse The Band, Wolf & Bear, and Novelists. The run includes stops in Toronto, Boston, New York City, Atlanta, Denver, Anaheim, and more, along with appearances at Vans Warped Tour. The band will also head overseas this fall for a European and United Kingdom tour.
