Marilyn Manson's Opening U.K. Tour Date CANCELLED After Protests
Marilyn Manson’s return to the UK was set to begin in Brighton this October, but the opening night of his One Assassination Under God tour has officially been cancelled. The show, originally scheduled for October 29 at the Brighton Centre, was removed from Ticketmaster’s listings over the weekend, with fans receiving notice that the event would no longer take place.
The cancellation comes after public pressure from local Member of Parliament Siân Berry, along with activist group No Stage For Abusers and several victim advocacy organizations. In an open letter to Brighton and Hove City Council, Berry called on the city to reconsider hosting Manson at a publicly owned venue, citing the nature of past allegations made against him.
While Manson has not been charged with any crimes, he has been accused of sexual assault and abuse by multiple women since 2021. He has denied all allegations.
Still, the decision to pull the show has stirred up controversy. Supporters of the cancellation say it sends a strong message about protecting survivors and community values. Others argue that Manson hasn’t been convicted and that cancelling the show is a dangerous form of censorship.
As of now, other UK tour dates are still moving forward, including a show in Bournemouth on October 31- though local officials there are also calling for cancellation.
