30 Days of Features- Sons of Ghidorah, Heavy Rock band from New York & Buffalo

Sons of Ghidorah is a Heavy Rock band based out of New York (half of the band lives outside of New York City and the other half in Buffalo).  The band formed in 2014 after Carl Pace, Mark Giuliano and Christopher Konys collaborated on a handful of tracks that led to our self-titled release.  Within months, we recruited Michael Plewinski for our live performance.  In 2016, Sons of Ghidorah recruited Troy Mezzio and parted ways with Carl Pace. Sons of Ghidorah will be releasing "397 Miles" by the end of 2019 and working on new material.



The band has four current members:
Mark Giuliano – Vocals
Troy Mezzio - Guitars
Christopher Konys – Bass and Keyboards
Larry Kremer – Drums


We have other drummers that have performed with us depending on availability.  We actually consider them all to be active members of the band.

Releases:
Sons of Ghidorah self-titled album was released in December of 2014.

Do you have any new releases/albums/music? What is it called, and how would you describe it?
The new release incorporates elements of heavy rock, doom, stoner rock,  and punk to create a wall of heavy vibes.  For those people that are familiar with this subgenre of heavy music, Sons of Ghidorah sits alongside bands such as The Obsessed, Fu Manchu, Monster Magnet, Kyuss and the Melvins.  For those less familiar with the genre, Sons of Ghidorah may be best described as Black Sabbath meets the Doors with a bit of the Stooges.

Do you have anything you would like to tell the public? 
Sons of Ghidorah has been refining “397 Miles” which should be released by the end of 2019.  In the meantime, we have an album’s worth of material with drummer Benny Policello and another album of material that we have been working on with our newest member Larry Kremer.  We anticipate 2 releases in 2020.
